introducing . . . astral-vision!

This marks the third channel in our lineup! But what exactly should you expect from this latest addition to TeleUphoria Media Network?

Astral-Vision focuses on Magickal art and instructional content. Our aim with this new channel is to provide a space for the Magick community to create, teach, learn, and discuss in a safe environment. Like all of our other channels, Astral-Vision is dedicated to bringing people together and exhibiting work that all too often flies under the radar.

Much like MGPA and Channel 43, Astral-Vision will premiere via Twitch and will have a 3 - 4 week run with chances for viewers and participants to catch a re-run. The format will take on that of a television broadcast and accepted submissions will go through a tape transfer process just like our other channels. But instead of making this a one night event to tune in to, we’re hoping to create several themed programming blocks to cater to viewers’ interests.

We'll also have more submission categories for artists and instructors to choose from. This includes:

  • Instructional Videos (on any Magickal topic)

  • Ritual Documentation

  • Video Art

  • Experimental Videos

  • Narrative Short Films

  • Short Form Documentaries

  • Talk Shows

While our open call doesn’t start until August and we’re still finalizing deadlines and the premiere date, we’ve provided a few things for you to keep in mind as you think up ideas for a submission. If you have questions, you can fill out the form on our contact page. Please DO NOT send us your submission or an artist press kit. When we are open for submissions, we’ll make an announcement on our social media with a link to our Film Freeway page. In the meantime, see below for our guidelines, terms, and FAQs.

guidelines

  • Entries must explore at least one Magickal concept that acts as either it’s primary or secondary theme.

  • While we accept narrative and fictional work, we urge you to only submit to this category if your work is well informed. Meaning, if it represents Magickal concepts inaccurately, it will not be considered for our programming.

  • Instructional content for all experience levels are welcome, but try to make your tutorial or lecture as specific as possible. We’d love to have multiple videos detailing different aspects of the same subject. That way, newcomers and experienced viewers can all feel at home.

  • Submissions are allotted the following runtimes:

    • Video Art, Experimental Video, and Narrative Short Films = 2 - 20 minutes

    • Instructional Videos, Short Form Documentary, and Talk Shows = 5 - 30 minutes

    • Ritual Documentation = 5 - 60 minutes (if you have something longer that you would like to submit in this category, please email us with a description).

  • And, as always, any entry that perpetuates bigotry of any kind will be immediately rejected.
